Lead and Transform: The Role
Are you a highly experienced and passionate Registered Residential Manager ready to lead a specialist Alternative Provision (AP) children's home in Burnley?
We are seeking an inspirational leader to manage a therapeutic residential setting for young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a home that integrates high-quality care with education, ensuring every young person achieves positive life outcomes.
You will be responsible for all operational aspects of the home, maintaining Ofsted compliance and driving a culture of safeguarding, stability, and high achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Manage the daily operations, resources, and budget of the residential home, ensuring full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Ofsted Compliance: Maintain and strive to exceed Ofsted requirements, leading the home through inspections to achieve and sustain 'Good' or 'Outstanding' ratings.
Team Management: Recruit, lead, supervise, and mentor a dedicated team of residential support staff, fostering a collaborative and therapeutic working environment.
Therapeutic Care: Oversee the implementation of bespoke, child-centred care and placement plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapeutic care tailored to SEMH needs.
Safeguarding: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring robust safeguarding practices are embedded across the provision.
Partnership Working: Collaborate effectively with our Alternative Provision educators, social workers, health professionals, and families to create holistic and consistent support.
What You Will Bring:
Essential Requirements:
Qualification: MUST hold the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Experience: Proven, recent experience as a Registered Children's Home Manager (or Deputy/Manager with demonstrated Ofsted experience).
Knowledge: In-depth working knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and the specific challenges faced by young people with SEMH/EBD.
Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the resilience to manage challenging situations effectively and calmly.
