Student Welfare Officer - Full-Time Position

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Student Welfare Officer to join a supportive secondary setting in the Northamptonshire area. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone passionate about student wellbeing and pastoral support.

The Role:

  • Providing day-to-day emotional, social, and practical support to students

  • Supporting vulnerable pupils and helping remove barriers to learning

  • Working closely with safeguarding leads, pastoral teams, and teaching staff

  • Managing and responding to welfare concerns, attendance issues, and behaviour needs

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students and families

  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to support plans

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting young people in a school, pastoral, or youth work setting

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

  • Excellent communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work within a multi-agency framework

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
