Attendance & Wellbeing Officer - KS5 Focus (Kettering)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and proactive Attendance and Wellbeing Officer to support Sixth Form students (ages 16-18) at a thriving secondary school in the Kettering area. This key pastoral role is focused on improving attendance, promoting positive wellbeing, and ensuring that KS5 learners are fully supported in their academic and personal development.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in pastoral care, student support, youth work, or safeguarding who is passionate about helping young people succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track attendance for KS5 students, identifying concerns early

  • Work directly with students to address barriers to attendance and engagement

  • Build supportive, professional relationships with young people

  • Liaise with parents/carers regarding attendance, punctuality, and wellbeing

  • Work closely with pastoral leads, safeguarding staff, and teaching teams

  • Provide wellbeing support, guidance, and signposting where necessary

  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required

  • Promote a positive, safe, and supportive Sixth Form environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting young people, ideally in a school, youth, or pastoral role

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • A caring, approachable, and resilient nature

  • Good organisational and record-keeping abilities

  • Confidence in supporting students with attendance, wellbeing, or pastoral needs

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
