Art and Design Teacher - North Tyneside

Location: North Tyneside

Start Date: ASAP or January 2026 | Full-Time | Permanent or Long-Term

Salary: £140 - £261.79 per day (DOE)

Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a number of secondary schools across North Tyneside and the surrounding area, who are actively seeking an Art and Design Teacher to join their departments ASAP or from January 2026. Considering applications for temporary, short-term, part-time, full-time, and permanent positions.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Teaching engaging Art and Design lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with Key Stage 5/A-Level options available in some schools).

  • Delivering a wide range of creative disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital media to promote artistic skill and expression.

  • Planning dynamic lessons that develop technical proficiency, critical thinking, visual literacy, and appreciation for art history.

  • Adapting teaching to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners and supporting individual student projects.

  • Working collaboratively within a supportive Art and Design department to share resources and best practice.

  • Supporting or leading extra-curricular activities such as art clubs, portfolio development sessions, or gallery trips.


About You:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) specialising in Art and Design.

  • Confident teaching the national curriculum and preparing students for GCSE Art and Design (and potentially A-Level or BTEC Art/Design qualifications).

  • Passionate about promoting creativity, cultural awareness, and student artistic development.

  • Committed to helping all students achieve their potential.

  • A team player who contributes positively to school life.

  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply - comprehensive induction support provided.
