📚 Year 3 Class Teacher
Contract: Full-time | Maternity Cover | February - July 2026 - likely to extend to September - December (Autumn Term)
Location: South Croydon

A well-regarded one-form-entry primary school in Croydon is seeking a committed and nurturing Year 3 Class Teacher to join them for the Spring and Summer Terms, on a maternity cover contract. This full-time classroom role sits within Lower Key Stage 2 (KS2), with a specific class who you will support from February until end of 2026. A competitive salary will be offered in line with experience via PAYE via Outer London MPS.

Located in a leafy and well-connected part of Croydon, the school prides itself on its warm, child-centred ethos and supportive team. The headteacher is keen to appoint an enthusiastic teacher with a minimum of one year primary classroom experience, ideally between MPS1-MPS6, who can contribute positively to school life during this temporary post.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full teaching responsibility for a Year 3 class

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Support pupils in developing key literacy and numeracy skills ahead of SATS assessments

  • Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress, development, and wellbeing

  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality, inspiring lessons

  • Foster curiosity, independence, and a love of learning in children aged 7-8 years
