Job Title: School Science Technician - Full Time (5 Days per Week)

Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Are you passionate about science and eager to play a key role in supporting students' learning and discovery? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Technician to join a network of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Merton.
As a valued member of the science department, you'll work alongside teachers to prepare engaging experiments, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe and efficient learning environment for all students. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference behind the scenes - supporting both staff and students to bring science to life in the classroom.
What You'll Do
Prepare, set up, and clear away laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons.
Support teachers in delivering practical experiments safely and effectively.
Maintain and organise science laboratories, equipment, and chemical stores.
Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory and ordering new materials when required.
What We're Looking For
A strong interest in science and education.
Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment (school-based experience is desirable but not essential).
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
A proactive, reliable, and supportive attitude.
Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy school environment.
