Tradewind are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable and highly motivated Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join a thriving Academy in Solihull. Position: Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted point of contact for safeguarding concerns and provide guidance to staff in the DSL's absence.
Support the coordination of all safeguarding referrals and ensure concerns are acted upon swiftly and appropriately.
Work closely with social care, the police and other agencies to support investigations and multi-agency plans.
Maintain high-quality safeguarding records and ensure information is handled confidentially and accurately.
Assist with the delivery of staff safeguarding training and help ensure statutory responsibilities are fully understood across the school.
Contribute to early help processes and provide tailored support for families and young people who require additional intervention.
Help raise awareness of safeguarding policies, ensuring they remain up to date and accessible to staff and families.
Support the school's responsibilities under the Prevent Duty, including identifying concerns and contributing to staff training.
Provide pastoral and behaviour support for students, developing positive relationships and targeted plans to help them thrive.
Build strong links with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure students feel supported both in and out of school.
Assist with pastoral administration, supervision duties and safeguarding-related meetings as required.

Requirements:
Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field
Up-to-date safeguarding training or working towards Deputy DSL accreditation
Experience working with children and families who require additional support
Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and multi-agency collaboration
Ability to communicate clearly, sensitively and professionally
Confident in prioritising workload and keeping accurate, secure records
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with young people
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
