SEN Teaching Assistant - KS1 (ASD)

Tradewind Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Camden from January 2026. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

About the Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide personalised support to a KS1 pupil with ASD

  • Assist with emotional regulation, communication, and engagement

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver Individual Education Plans

  • Implement structured routines, visual supports, and sensory strategies

  • Encourage independence and positive learning behaviours

  • Support social interaction and nurture the child's confidence

  • Help create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience supporting children with ASD or other Special Educational Needs

  • A patient, calm, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Confidence building positive relationships with children

  • A passion for helping young learners thrive

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
