Our welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Newham is seeking a motivated and organised Food Technician to join our vibrant Design & Technology department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and supporting students in developing essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for Food Technology lessons
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in teaching kitchens
Order, check, and store food supplies efficiently
Support students during practical lessons, helping them develop confidence and skill
Assist teaching staff with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
Carry out routine maintenance and checks on equipment
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and food hygiene standards
Contribute to the smooth running of the department and wider school activities

About You:
We are looking for someone who is:

Well-organised, proactive, and able to work independently
Confident working in a kitchen or food-based environment (school experience helpful but not essential)
Knowledgeable about food hygiene and safety practices (training can be provided)
A clear communicator with a supportive and positive attitude
Willing to work collaboratively within a friendly DT team
Reliable, professional, and committed to helping students succeed
