Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Daventry to recruit a Cover Supervisor with Administration Duties. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive individual who enjoys working in a busy school environment and is confident managing both classroom cover and administrative responsibilities.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the school by overseeing cover management and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. When required, you will supervise whole classes across a range of subjects, delivering pre-set work, maintaining positive behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

In addition to classroom duties, this role has a strong administrative and organisational focus. You will be responsible for arranging daily staff cover, liaising closely with teaching and support staff, and working with external supply agencies to secure appropriate cover when needed. This includes managing short-term and planned absences, keeping accurate records, and communicating effectively with senior leaders to ensure staffing needs are met efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher

• Managing and coordinating daily staff cover

• Liaising with external agencies and supply staff

• Maintaining accurate cover records and timetables

• Supporting the wider administration team as required

• Ensuring safeguarding and school policies are followed at all times

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, confident in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, and able to remain calm under pressure. Previous experience in a school setting, particularly in cover supervision or school administration, is highly desirable, though not essential for the right candidate.
