Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Secondary Schools

Location: Croydon
Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across a range of inclusive and supportive secondary schools in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional who is eager to make a meaningful impact on students' learning and development while progressing their career in education.

The Role

As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and senior leaders. Responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes when required

  • Supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4, including those with SEND

  • Leading small group interventions to raise attainment and confidence

  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Supporting behaviour management and pastoral care in line with school policies

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds HLTA status or equivalent experience

  • Has experience working within secondary school settings
