Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant (Wednesday - Friday)

Location: Blackpool (Academy).

Contract: Temporary (February Half-Term to July 2026).

Hours: Wed - Fri, 08:30 - 15:30 (Term-Time Only).

Salary: Paid to Scale £13.88-£14.88 ph (Pro Rota - term time).

The Role:

Our Blackpool Academy is looking for a resilient, calm, and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our Year 4 team. This is a crucial role providing general classroom support while focusing specifically on pupils who require extra guidance with emotional regulation and consistency.

A key part of your day will be supporting "bridge" moments helping children manage school transitions (moving between lessons, break times, lunch, and assemblies) to ensure they feel safe, settled, and ready to learn.

Who We Are Looking For:

The successful candidate will be someone who can build quick, trusting relationships with Year 4 pupils. You will need:

  • Patience and Empathy: To support children who struggle with emotional regulation.
  • Consistency: To provide a stable presence during busy transitions throughout the school day, providing timely updates and promotes to the children about transitions that are coming up.
  • Adaptability: To support the class teacher in delivering a high-quality curriculum while remaining attuned to individual pupil needs. Changing fluidly from a general whole class TA to 1:1 when children require side by side aid.
  • Collaborative Spirit: To work alongside our nurture team to ensure the holistic development of every child.
