Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

Salary: Competitive daily rate (experience dependent)

We are working with a secondary school in Northampton that is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is resilient, empathetic and committed to helping students improve behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
About the Role:
Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for students with behavioural, emotional or social needs
Support students in developing emotional regulation, resilience and positive coping strategies
De-escalate challenging behaviour using restorative and trauma-informed approaches
Work closely with teachers, pastoral leads, SENCOs and safeguarding teams to implement behaviour support plans
Monitor, record and report on student behaviour, progress and engagement
Promote positive behaviour, attendance and engagement across the school
Help create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
We're Looking For:
Experience working with secondary-aged students with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs
A calm, assertive and supportive approach in high-pressure situations
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school-based pastoral team
Experience in youth work, mentoring, pastoral support, education or similar roles (desirable but not essential)
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
