Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a well-regarded single sex secondary school in Northampton, who are seeking a dedicated English Instructor to join their team from January 2026. The position is initially offered on a January to April basis, with a strong opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for someone confident in delivering English across Key Stages 3 and 4, who is keen to develop their classroom experience while making a meaningful impact on student progress.

The Role:

  • Deliver structured and engaging English lessons using existing schemes of work, with scope for creative input

  • Support students in developing reading, writing, and analytical skills

  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners, including those with SEND or additional needs

  • Work collaboratively with the English department and pastoral teams to support progress and wellbeing

  • Maintain a positive, focused classroom environment and provide constructive feedback

About You:

  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and/or Literature

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students (teaching, tutoring, or classroom support)

  • Confident and professional classroom presence

  • Patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting all learners

  • A degree in English or a related subject is desirable, though not essential
