History Teacher - Secondary School
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Start Date: February Half Term
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Supply (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: MPS/UPS - Competitive, depending on experience

Looking for a new opportunity starting from February half term in a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Wellingborough?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Wellingborough who are seeking a committed History Teacher to join their team from February half term. This is a full-time role available on a long-term supply basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Teach engaging and inspiring History lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)

  • Plan and deliver creative lessons that develop students' curiosity, analytical skills and understanding of historical concepts

  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and work collaboratively within the Humanities department

  • Support extracurricular activities such as History clubs, enrichment days or educational visits

  • Promote a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

Who We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a UK-recognised teaching qualification

  • Recent experience teaching History at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for History

  • Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills

  • Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities

  • Open to applications from ECTs and experienced teachers

  • Commitment to inclusive practice and ongoing professional development
