Head of Computer Science - Hounslow

A large secondary school based in Hounslow are looking for an experienced and motivated Head of Computer Science to lead and develop the department.
This is a full-time, long term/permanent position starting from April 2026 (or sooner by negotiation).
The role includes responsibility for curriculum leadership, staff development, and raising standards across the department.
Salary will be in line with Outer London MPS/UPS plus TLR (dependent on experience).
Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

* Lead the Computer Science department, driving high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement across all key stages.
* Develop and implement an ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
* Support and mentor staff within the department, promoting continuous professional development.
* Monitor student progress and outcomes, using data effectively to inform teaching and intervention.
* Contribute to whole-school improvement and uphold the school's values and ethos.

Qualifications and Person Specification:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A relevant degree in Computer Science or a related subject
* Proven experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level
* Leadership experience or readiness to take on a leadership role
* Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Approachable, confident, and inspiring
