School Site Manager - South Birmingham

Are you an experienced Site Manager looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to a school community? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and proactive School Site Manager to join a welcoming primary school in South Birmingham.

About the Role

As the School Site Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the school provides a safe, secure and well‑maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors. This hands‑on position requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while leading site and cleaning staff when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day maintenance, security and cleanliness of the school site
  • Carry out minor repairs, basic plumbing, carpentry and general DIY tasks
  • Manage contractors and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
  • Conduct regular site checks, risk assessments and maintain relevant records
  • Open and/or lock the school site as part of a split‑shift or flexible working pattern
  • Support the school with set‑ups for events, deliveries and general operational needs
  • Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are functioning effectively

About You

  • Previous experience in a school or facilities management role
  • Strong practical maintenance/DIY skills
  • Knowledge of health & safety, safeguarding and compliance procedures
  • Reliable, adaptable and able to prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply through Tradewind)
