SEN Teaching Assistant - South Birmingham

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential? Tradewind Recruitment Birmingham is currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supportive network of Primary schools across the city.

About the Role

Roles may include supporting pupils with:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH needs
  • Speech, language & communication difficulties
  • Physical or sensory needs
  • Learning delays or complex needs

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to provide personalised support, build confidence, and help create a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Assist with classroom routines and learning activities
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure pupil progress

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people (school-based or otherwise)
  • A caring, patient and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport and manage behaviour positively
  • A fully enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
