Year 2 Class Teacher | Accrington (BB5) | April - December 2026

This is a fixed-term position starting Monday, 13th April 2026 (following the Easter break) and running through until December 2026. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or a talented ECT (Early Career Teacher), we want to hear from you!


The Role & School

As the Year 2 lead, you will be responsible for guiding pupils through a critical transition year, ensuring they are supported, inspired, and ready for their next steps.

  • Position: Year 2 Class Teacher

  • Location: Accrington, Lancashire (BB5)

  • Duration: April 2026 - December 2026

  • Pay: Competitive daily rate/salary based on the Main Pay Scale (MPS)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.

  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence.

  • Assess pupil progress and tailor interventions to support diverse learning needs.

  • Prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments with a balanced, low-pressure approach.

  • Collaborate with a supportive KS1 team and contribute to the wider school community.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and phonics (particularly Read Write Inc. or similar).

  • ECTs are highly encouraged to apply! The school offers a robust induction program and mentorship for those in their first or second year of teaching.

  • A proactive, "can-do" attitude with a genuine love for primary education.

  • Residency or ability to commute easily to the BB5 area.
