Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Blackpool Primary

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dynamic, three-form entry Primary School in Blackpool. This is a brilliant opportunity for experienced TAs, HLTAs, or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain classroom management experience in a supportive environment.

Location: Blackpool (Excellent motorway links, on-site parking, and bus route access).

Start Date: April 2026 (Summer Term).

Salary: £14.50 - £16.00 per hour.

Hours: Full-time (Monday-Friday, 08:30 - 15:30), Temporary, Term Time only.

The Role: Impacting Student Learning

As an HLTA, you will work collaboratively with class teachers to raise standards across the school. This role offers a unique blend of small-group intervention and whole-class responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Cover: Lead whole classes during teacher PPA time or short-term absences.

  • Targeted Interventions: Deliver and evaluate learning activities for individuals and small groups.

  • Progress Tracking: Monitor student development and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance to other Teaching Assistants and support the wider school life.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with parents, carers, and staff to maintain an inclusive environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant Level 3 or 4 qualification (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.

  • Full commitment to safeguarding procedures (DBS check required).
