Job Description

The Opportunity: Shape the Future of Primary AP

Are you a visionary educator ready to build something from the ground up? We are opening a brand-new Alternative Provision (AP) in West Bradford, Clitheroe, and we are seeking a foundational Primary Lead Teacher to spearhead our primary phase.

Starting on 1st June 2026, you will have a unique "set-up" window to influence the curriculum, design the learning environment, and establish the culture before our first cohort of students arrives. This is a rare chance to move away from mainstream constraints and create a truly trauma-informed, therapeutic primary setting in the heart of the Ribble Valley.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Design: Develop a bespoke, high-impact primary curriculum for students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.

  • Leadership: Lead a small, dedicated team of TAs and support staff, fostering a culture of high expectations and deep empathy.

  • School Setup: Work closely with the Headteacher during the June/July launch phase to ensure the site is "Ofsted-ready" and student-centered.

  • Quality of Teaching: Model "Outstanding" practice for learners who have faced significant barriers to education in Clitheroe and the surrounding areas.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, with significant experience in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.

  • Leadership Experience: You may be a current Lead Teacher, Phase Leader, or an aspiring Senior Leader ready for the next step.

  • AP/SEN Expertise: A deep understanding of the Alternative Provision sector and a proven track record of supporting pupils with complex needs.

  • Visionary Mindset: Someone who is excited by the challenge of a "blank canvas" and the logistics of a newly opening school.

Why Join Our New Provision?

  • Be the First: You will be a founding member of the team, with a significant say in the school's long-term strategy.

  • Location: Work in a stunning West Bradford location with easy access from Clitheroe, Preston, and Blackburn.

  • Professional Growth: Rapid career progression as the provision expands.

  • Early Start: A 1st June 2026 start date allows for a thorough induction and a stress-free transition before the new academic year.
