Part-Time Teaching Assistant (Wednesday-Friday) - Job Share
Year 2 Class | Chesterfield | Moderately Sized Primary School

Start Date: Monday 13th April or ASAP

A welcoming and moderately sized primary school in Chesterfield is seeking a confident and experienced teacher to work Wednesday to Friday in a Year 2 class.

This position is part of a job share arrangement, so strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills are essential to ensure consistency for the pupils across the week.

The Role:

  • Teaching and learning within a Year 2 classroom

  • Supporting phonics, early reading, and numeracy

  • Managing the classroom to create an environment for positive behaviour and maintaining high classroom expectations

  • Preparing resources and assisting with classroom organisation

The Ideal Candidate:

  • QTS essential

  • Has recent experience working in Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience preferred)

  • Is a strong behaviour manager and confident supporting whole-class learning

  • Is proactive, adaptable, and able to use initiative

  • Communicates effectively to ensure smooth handovers within the job share
