1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - ASAP Start
Location: Blackburn (BB2)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Until the end of the academic year)
Hours: 8:45 AM - 3:30 PM (includes a 30-minute lunch break)
Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in a child's education? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student in a vibrant primary school located in the BB2 area of Blackburn.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping pupils with additional needs reach their full potential.
The Role:
Personalised Support: Working 1:1 with a specific pupil to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
Curriculum Adaptation: Tailoring classroom activities to suit the pupil's individual learning plan (ILP).
Behaviour Management: Using positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies to maintain a focused learning environment.
Collaboration: Working closely with the Class Teacher and SENDCo to monitor and report on progress.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN (e.g., Autism, ADHD, or SEMH) is highly desirable.
Resilience: A calm, patient "can-do" attitude, even during challenging moments.
Reliability: Commitment to the school's hours and the pupil's routine until the end of the summer term.
Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, but relevant experience is key.
