Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work within a nurturing school setting in Corby.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require additional emotional, social and mental health (SEMH) support to thrive both academically and personally.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with mental health and SEMH needs

  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and wellbeing strategies

  • Working closely with the SENCO, pastoral team and external professionals

  • Helping to create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment

  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs

  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills

  • A background in psychology, counselling, youth work or support work (desirable)

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
