Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Full Time
Immediate Start | Competitive Daily Pay | Tameside / Oldham

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for four pupils within a welcoming and inclusive school environment.

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with pupils who display challenging behaviours, including two students who are non-verbal. A key focus will be helping these pupils increase their engagement with school and supporting their transition from part-time to full-time timetables. Your support will play a vital role in developing their social, emotional and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support both inside and outside the classroom

  • Implement individualised behaviour management strategies

  • Support pupils' progress in core learning and communication skills

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and pastoral staff

  • Foster a safe, supportive and positive learning environment that encourages independence and confidence

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviour and/or communication needs

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Patience, resilience and empathy when supporting young people

  • A confident communicator who works well as part of a team
