A welcoming specialist secondary school in Hackney is seeking a committed Year 10 Teaching Assistant to join their team from 23rd March until the end of the academic year in July 2026. The school supports students with moderate learning needs, providing a nurturing and structured environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

This role would suit someone who is energetic, patient and resilient, and able to build positive relationships while providing consistent support in the classroom.

Your Role Will Include:

Providing in-class support for Year 10 students with moderate learning needs

Encouraging engagement and promoting positive learning behaviours

Supporting pupils with confidence building, social interaction, and emotional regulation

Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver targeted support

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with SEND learners (desirable but not essential)

Strong behaviour management skills

The ability to build positive relationships quickly with students

Experience in mentoring, youth work, coaching or sport, which is highly valued as students enjoy active, movement-based learning

Role Details:

📍 Location: Hackney

📅 Contract: 23rd March - 22nd July 2026

💷 Pay: £95 per day, increasing to £132 after 12 working weeks
