Year 6 Teaching Assistant
Location: Hackney, London
Start Date: 16th March, 2026 - 22nd July, 2026
Contract: Full-time / Term-time
Daily Rate: £95 to £115
A friendly one-form entry primary school in Hackney is seeking a confident, motivated and capable Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside an experienced class teacher in a supportive school environment, helping pupils prepare for the important transition to secondary school. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with their Year 6 learning and SATs preparation, ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared.
Key Responsibilities
Support teaching and learning in a Year 6 classroom
Provide targeted support in Maths and English, both in small groups and 1:1
Assist with SATs preparation, including booster sessions and revision activities
Help maintain a focused and positive learning environment
Work closely with the class teacher to support pupils of varying abilities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Strong personal skills in Maths and English
Experience supporting pupils with SATs preparation
Confident and effective behaviour management skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
A proactive, confident and supportive approach to learning
