Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a successful and well-established secondary school in Waltham Forest that is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science to join their team on a full-time basis from April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Computer Science specialist to inspire students and contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking department.

The successful candidate will teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, delivering engaging lessons to students in Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, Year 11, Year 12 / Sixth Form and Year 13 / Sixth Form. The role will involve planning and delivering high-quality lessons that develop students' computational thinking, programming skills and understanding of digital systems. You will also be responsible for assessing student progress, preparing pupils for GCSE and A Level examinations, and contributing to the continued development of the Computer Science curriculum.
Key responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging Computer Science lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5, supporting students in developing coding and problem-solving skills, monitoring and assessing student progress, maintaining a positive and focused learning environment, and contributing to departmental initiatives and extracurricular opportunities such as coding clubs or technology enrichment activities.
The successful Teacher of Computer Science will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, alongside a degree in Computer Science, Computing, or a closely related subject. Candidates should demonstrate excellent subject knowledge, strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities. The school welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers who are passionate about delivering engaging and innovative Computer Science lessons.
