About Our School

This school is a happy, caring environment where we believe every child is unique and full of potential. Our aim is to bring out the best in each and every child by helping them shine both in the classroom and beyond. We offer a space where children grow in confidence, develop a love of learning, and discover their own talents.

Through exciting lessons, strong values, and working closely with families, we help our children become kind, curious, and confident learners. This school is committed to giving every child the tools they need to thrive and make a positive difference in the world around them.

The Role: Specialised SEN Support

Both posts are based within our dedicated SEN Room, working with children who have complex needs, including:

  • Autism (ASD)
  • Non-verbal communication barriers
  • Global Developmental Delay

You will be part of a collaborative team that prioritises sensory-led learning and nurturing intervention. Whether you are supporting a child 1-to-1 or working within the wider SEN group, your goal is to provide a safe, accessible, and stimulating environment tailored to each child's individual developmental stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specialised Support: Utilising your experience in ASD and non-verbal communication to engage and motivate pupils.
  • Nurturing Growth: Helping children build confidence and self-regulation through patient, person-centred support.
  • Communication: Using visual aids, PECS, or Makaton to bridge communication gaps for non-verbal learners.
  • Collaboration: Working alongside the SENDCO and Class Teachers to implement specific targets within Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with ASD and Global Developmental Delay is essential.
  • Attributes: A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to learning and personal care.
  • Commitment: As these are year-long bookings (Easter to Easter), we are looking for practitioners who can provide consistent stability for our pupils.
  • Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred.

Why Join Our Agency Team?

By joining Tradewind for this placement, you will receive:

  • Competitive Pay: High hourly rates with full AWR protection.
  • Stability: A guaranteed year-long booking to provide financial and professional peace of mind.
  • Development: Free access to over 2,500 CPD courses, including specialised SEN and Autism training.
