Job Advertisement - Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)
Location: Outskirts of Kettering, Northamptonshire
Position Type: Full-time / Term-time only
Salary: £92- £95 per day
Start Date: ASAP / September 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive secondary school located on the outskirts of Kettering. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys working with young people aged 11-16.

The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons, provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in lessons across a range of subjects

  • Work with individuals and small groups, including those with additional learning needs

  • Assist teachers with classroom preparation and resources

  • Help manage behaviour in line with school policies

  • Support students' social and emotional development

  • Supervise students during break times or school activities when required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children or young people (school experience desirable but not essential)

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
