HLTA - PPA Cover (Full-Time) - Old Trafford

Are you an experienced HLTA looking for a dynamic and rewarding role across a primary school setting?

We are currently recruiting for a confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a primary school in Old Trafford, starting in the coming weeks. This is a full-time position covering PPA across the school, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and taking the lead in the classroom.

The Role

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across all year groups to cover PPA time

  • Managing the classroom independently in the absence of the class teacher

  • Supporting learning and maintaining high standards of behaviour

  • Working flexibly across different key stages (EYFS, KS1 & KS2)

  • Liaising with staff to ensure continuity and consistency for pupils

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds HLTA status or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience leading whole classes

  • Strong and confident behaviour management skills (essential)

  • Flexible, proactive and able to adapt quickly to different classrooms

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
