1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant - Full-Time Role (Immediate Start)

Tradewind Recruitment are looking to appoint a compassionate and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs within a welcoming primary school setting in Bury.
This full-time position requires someone who can provide consistent support, helping a child to feel secure, understood, and able to access their learning environment successfully. The role will begin immediately and continue through to the end of the academic year.
About the Role:
You will be working on a one-to-one basis with a pupil who requires additional emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day. The child may at times present with heightened emotional responses, so the ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive is essential. You will help implement strategies that encourage positive behaviours and emotional regulation.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Delivering focused 1:1 support both in and out of the classroom
Encouraging engagement with learning activities in a structured and supportive way
Supporting the development of social and emotional skills
Using effective de-escalation and behaviour management strategies
Liaising with teaching staff and SEN professionals to ensure consistent support

Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Is committed to inclusion and supporting individual learning journeys
Works well as part of a collaborative school team
