Teaching Assistant - Kettering & Surrounding Area

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a motivated and reliable Teaching Assistant to support a variety of primary and secondary schools in Kettering and the surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain valuable experience within the education sector.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support learning in the classroom, help pupils stay engaged, and contribute to a supportive and positive school environment. Roles may involve working 1:1 with students, supporting small groups, or assisting the whole class.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in lessons across a range of subjects

  • Providing additional help to students with SEN or additional learning needs (experience desirable but not essential)

  • Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation and organisation

  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging participation

  • Reporting pupil progress and concerns to the class teacher

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (school-based or in care, coaching, tutoring, youth work etc.)

  • A patient, positive and flexible approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to travel to schools in the Kettering area

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
