Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality drama lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Direct and produce school plays, performances, and extracurricular drama activities

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and attainment

  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages creativity and confidence

  • Maintain strong classroom management and ensure a safe learning space

Requirements

  • Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related field

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE or equivalent)

  • Strong subject knowledge and practical experience in drama and theatre

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable Skills

  • Experience directing school productions or theatre projects

  • Ability to contribute to wider school activities and clubs

  • Passion for student development and the performing arts
