IMMEDIATE START AFTER EASTER - SITE MANAGER / CARETAKER (FULL-TIME) - HATFIELD, HERTFORDSHIRE - £26,000-£31,200 / £100-£120 PER DAY - 52 WEEKS PAID + 25 DAYS LEAVE + BANK HOLIDAYS + CHRISTMAS BREAK - DRIVER REQUIRED - STARTING 13TH APRIL 2026 OR ASAP
About the Role
We are urgently seeking a reliable and practical Site Manager / Caretaker to join a small alternative provision school in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. This is a full-time position with split shifts, starting immediately after Easter, including a one-week paid handover during the school break.
This is a key role responsible for the overall management, safety, security, and maintenance of the school site. While you will not need to remain on site all day, your presence is essential at the start and end of each day.
There is strong potential for this position to become permanent in the next academic year for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Opening the school site from 7:30am and securing it at the end of the day
* Overseeing the safety, security, and day-to-day management of the premises
* Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs
* Ensuring the site remains clean, safe, and welcoming
* Monitoring site security and reporting concerns
* Supporting and maintaining health and safety standards and checks
* Occasional travel to a second site in St Albans
About You
* Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
* Practical with strong DIY and maintenance skills
* Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
* Good communication skills with a professional, approachable manner
* Flexible with working hours (split shifts required)
* Full UK driving licence preferred due to travel between sites

* £26,000 - £31,200 per annum (£100-£120 per day PAYE + pension)
