Year 1 Teacher

On behalf of our client school, we are recruiting a KS1 teacher to take on a Year 1 class commencing May on a long-term, full-time basis. The exciting Year 1 role will last until May 2027 or until the post-holder returns and offers a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced teacher or an ECT hoping to start their induction.

The school is single form entry, underpinned by a Catholic ethos and offers a warm, welcoming environment with friendly staff working towards a shared vision.

The school offers a broad and rich curriculum and is proud to offer Forest School to allow children to explore, take calculated risks and learn valuable outdoor skills.

This is an inclusive school with a fantastic reputation and produces excellent academic outcomes year in year out.

The successful Year 1 teacher will:

• Be a committed professional with a strong knowledge and understanding of KS1 teaching and learning
• Have a strong grasp of phonics and promote a love of reading
• Adopt a nurturing approach with the children based on positive relationships where children feel safe, included and happy at school
• Be able to use adaptive teaching methods to scaffold and stretch learners to achieve their potential
• Use formative assessment strategies such as effective questioning to determine who has achieved the lesson objectives and plan for intervention where appropriate
• Uphold the Catholic ethos of the school

Essential Requirements:

• QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Enhanced DBS check and overseas police check if applicable
• Excellent references to support previous teaching. Experience in KS1 highly desirable
• Right to work in the UK
