SEN Teaching Assistant

Southall, Ealing
Full-Time | Immediate Start | Long-Term

A supportive and inclusive primary school in Southall is seeking an experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them access learning and make meaningful progress in a well-structured school environment.

About the School

This well-run primary school is known for its strong focus on inclusion and pupil wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all children are supported, and there is a clear structure in place for SEN provision.

The school offers:

  • A welcoming and inclusive environment
  • Supportive and approachable senior leadership
  • Clear behaviour policies and consistent routines
  • Dedicated spaces for interventions and SEN support
  • A collaborative staff team who work closely together
  • Good transport links across Southall, including access to the Elizabeth Line

The school places a strong emphasis on teamwork and values reliable, consistent support staff.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
  • Support children with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support literacy, numeracy, and communication
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement support strategies
  • Help pupils stay engaged and access the curriculum
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff

This role requires patience, consistency, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils.

What the School Is Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a UK primary school
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence working 1:1 and with small groups
  • A proactive and reliable attitude
  • Full-time availability and commitment

A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential if you have strong relevant experience.
