Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Full Time

We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school setting. This full-time role involves working closely with pupils with additional needs, providing tailored support to help them access learning and develop key social and emotional skills.
You will be supporting four pupils, including two who are non-verbal and others who present with challenging behaviour. A key focus of the role will be increasing engagement and helping pupils move from part-time to full-time timetables, promoting consistency and progress in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support both inside and outside the classroom
- Implement individualised behaviour management and support strategies
- Support pupils' academic, communication, and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and pastoral teams
- Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour and/or communication needs
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
