Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a qualified SEND Teacher to join a specialist all-through SEN school in Northamptonshire from September, through Tradewind Recruitment. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering a clear pathway into a permanent role within a highly supportive and purpose-built setting.

This all-through provision supports pupils aged 4-18 with complex additional needs, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The school caters for a wide range of needs, including autism spectrum condition (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The setting is known for its high staff-to-pupil ratios and small class sizes, allowing for a highly personalised approach to teaching and learning. The curriculum is carefully adapted to meet individual needs, with a strong emphasis not only on academic development, but also on communication, emotional regulation, independence, and life skills-helping to prepare pupils for adulthood.

As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to each student's individual pathway. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent and holistic support. The school promotes a structured and nurturing environment, often incorporating sensory approaches, visual supports, and therapeutic strategies to support pupils' engagement and wellbeing.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and is looking to secure a long-term role within a specialist setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP outcomes
  • Support pupils with complex SEND needs across an all-through setting
  • Promote communication, independence, and emotional regulation
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and external professionals
  • Contribute to reviews, progress tracking, and personalised learning plans
  • Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working within SEND or specialist provisions
  • Strong understanding of autism and complex needs
  • Excellent behaviour management and adaptability
  • A nurturing, resilient, and proactive approach

In return, Tradewind Recruitment offers competitive pay, ongoing CPD opportunities, and a clear route into a permanent contract.

If you are a committed SEND Teacher looking for a long-term, temp-to-perm opportunity starting in September, we would love to hear from you.
