Science Technician - Secondary School - Slough

Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Pay: £95-£105 per day (depending on experience)

A well-regarded secondary school in Slough is seeking a Science Technician to join their busy and supportive Science department. This full-time role is ideal for graduates or experienced technicians with a strong science background who are looking to support practical learning in a school environment.

The school has a strong emphasis on STEM education and practical-based learning, with well-equipped laboratories and a collaborative Science team. As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring lessons run smoothly by preparing materials, maintaining equipment and supporting safe practical experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare equipment, materials and resources for Science lessons
* Support teachers during practical experiments
* Ensure laboratories are fully stocked, safe and well maintained
* Assist with setting up demonstrations and experiments across KS3 and KS4
* Maintain health and safety standards within the Science department

The Ideal Candidate:
* A degree in Science or a related subject is desirable (or equivalent experience)
* Strong understanding of Biology, Chemistry or Physics practical work
* Good organisational and time-management skills
* A proactive and reliable approach to work
* Experience in a lab or school environment is advantageous
