Tradewind Recruitment are proud to be supporting a well-established independent specialist school in West London in their search for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work as part of a supportive team, helping to deliver a high-quality, inclusive education to students aged 11-19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated needs.
In this role, you will provide vital support to both teachers and students, helping to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, both in and out of the classroom
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, delivery, and classroom management
- Help implement individual education, behaviour, and support plans
- Support students' social, emotional, and communication development
- Promote positive behaviour and assist in managing challenging situations
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly autism (preferred)
- Compassionate & Patient: Able to build positive relationships and support students with complex needs
- Resilient: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and managing challenging behaviour
- Collaborative: A strong team player with good communication skills
- Proactive & Flexible: Willing to adapt to the needs of students and the school environment
