Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - SEMH Support - North London
Full-Time | June 2026 Start | Long-Term Opportunity
Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a supportive and inclusive school in North London, seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs from June 2026.
This rewarding role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and making a positive impact on students' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.
The successful candidate will work closely with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping to create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
The Role:
- Provide classroom and pastoral support to students with SEMH needs
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students and staff
- Support students both inside and outside of the classroom
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students
- Must be proactive, reliable, and committed to supporting student wellbeing
