Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a welcoming and well-equipped secondary school in Slough who are seeking a reliable Science Technician to join their team for a September 2026 start. The school is known for its strong science department and structured learning environment for pupils aged 11-16. Staff collaborate to ensure students are supported both academically and practically, while the leadership team prioritise professional development and staff wellbeing.

The Role
You will support the science department by preparing equipment and materials, assisting with classroom experiments, and maintaining a safe and organised laboratory environment. This is a full-time position working 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing and setting up materials and equipment for science lessons
* Supporting practical experiments and demonstrations in the classroom
* Maintaining and cleaning laboratory apparatus and workspaces
* Managing stock and ensuring chemicals and equipment are safely stored
* Assisting with health and safety compliance in the laboratory
* Supporting students and teachers during practical activities

Requirements:
* Previous UK-based school experience is essential and candidates without this will not be considered
* Experience working in a school science environment or similar practical setting
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* A proactive and detail-oriented approach
* A genuine interest in supporting science education and student learning
