Forest School Leader - Gillingham
Part-time (0.8) - UNQ-MPS -September 2026 start - Temp-to-perm
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Forest School Leader to work across Primary Schools in the Gillingham area. This is for a part-time role, working 4 days a week (0.8) and will be on a temp-to-perm basis from September 2026.
Both qualified and unqualified teachers are encouraged to apply and shortlisting for this role is happening know with interviews looking to be arranged at the earliest opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Forest School sessions for pupils across relevant age groups.
- Develop pupils' confidence, independence, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills.
- Manage outdoor learning resources, equipment, and learning spaces.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reporting and assessment processes where required.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support curriculum objectives through outdoor learning.
Requirements
- Forest School Leader qualification (Level 3 or equivalent).
- Experience delivering Forest School or outdoor education programmes with children.
- Commitment to inclusion and supporting the needs of all learners.
- Current First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification, but experience as an Unqualified Primary Teacher would be welcome.
- Experience working within a UK school setting.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and outdoor learning approaches.
- An enhanced Child only DBS on the update service would be desirable but not essential.
