A warm, welcoming and inclusive single-form entry primary school in Heaton Norris, Stockport, is seeking to appoint a passionate and committed Nursery Teacher to join their Early Years team on a full-time, temporary-to-permanent basis.

The Role
The successful candidate will lead a Nursery provision that includes both a separate Nursery class and a school-based Nursery division, which work collaboratively and occasionally come together during the school day. This unique structure offers an engaging and dynamic teaching environment, encouraging shared learning experiences and strong team working across EYFS.
The school places a strong emphasis on:
- High-quality early learning experiences rooted in the EYFS framework
- A balanced approach to maths, drawing from Development Matters, incorporating adult-led teaching, small group work, and child-initiated learning, alongside the White Rose Maths scheme
- Early reading, following the Read Write Inc (RWI) phonics programme, with a strong focus on promoting reading for pleasure
Foundation subjects are delivered through a creative and engaging curriculum, designed to inspire curiosity and independence in young learners.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have strong knowledge and experience of the EYFS framework (essential)
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of effective early years pedagogy
- Have experience (or strong familiarity) with Read Write Inc phonics
- Be confident delivering a blend of adult-led and child-initiated learning
- Be enthusiastic about fostering a love of reading and early mathematics
- Share the school's inclusive ethos and commitment to supporting all pupils
