HLTA URGENT VACANCY - Immediate September Start | St Albans | Small Primary School
A highly regarded, nurturing primary school in St Albans is urgently seeking a committed and dynamic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September. This is a rare opportunity to become part of a close-knit school community where expectations are high, support is strong, and every role has a meaningful impact.
Due to staffing requirements and budget allocations, the school is looking to secure the right candidate quickly, ideally someone available 4-5 days per week.
Important Eligibility Criteria:
Please note that only candidates with a Level 4 Teaching Assistant (CACHE) qualification or above will be considered.
This role is suitable for experienced HLTAs and qualified teachers only, and ECTs are welcome to apply.
The Role (varied and fast-paced):
- Leading PPA cover across multiple year groups
- Delivering focused intervention sessions to accelerate pupil progress
- Providing last-minute classroom cover during staff absence
- Supporting learning across the full primary age range
- Opportunity to bring a subject strength in Music, French or PE (desirable but not essential)

- A qualified HLTA or qualified teacher with strong classroom experience
- Confidence to lead whole-class learning independently
- A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to step in at short notice
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships quickly
- Someone who can adapt effectively to the changing demands of the school day

Pay:
£100 - £140 per day (dependent on experience and suitability)
