Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Brackley that is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role

As an SEN Support Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school

  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to implement individual learning plans and support strategies

  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions to support academic progress and personal development

  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs

  • Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil requirements

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and relevant staff

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all pupils

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals where appropriate

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEND within a school or educational setting

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, resilience, and a caring approach

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Is confident working independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Can adapt effectively to meet the varying needs of individual pupils

  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills

  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Holds relevant Teaching Assistant or SEND qualifications (desirable but not essential)
