English ECT - Secondary Schools in Southport and Crosby

Are you an Early Career Teacher of English looking to begin your teaching career in supportive secondary schools across Southport and Crosby?

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a range of secondary schools seeking enthusiastic English ECTs to join their teams from September. These schools offer excellent induction programmes, experienced mentors and opportunities to develop your classroom practice in a welcoming environment.

As an English ECT, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop their reading, writing and communication skills. Whether you specialise in English Language or English Literature, we have opportunities to match your experience and career aspirations.

We are looking for:

  • Qualified English ECTs or trainee teachers due to achieve QTS
  • Passionate Secondary English Teachers with strong subject knowledge
  • Individuals committed to raising attainment and supporting student progress
  • Teachers confident teaching English at KS3 and KS4

Requirements

To be considered, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English, or be due to achieve QTS by September 2026
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • A full career history
  • At least two professional references, including your most recent placement
  • The legal right to work in the UK
