We are working with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Rugby that is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil from September 2026. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in a child's educational journey by providing tailored support throughout the school day.
This position would suit someone with experience in education, childcare, care settings, or support work who is patient, compassionate, and committed to helping children achieve their full potential.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with special educational needs
Supporting the child in accessing learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and parents to ensure consistent support
Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil's EHCP or individual support plan
Encouraging the development of social skills, communication, confidence, and independence
Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour for learning
Adapting activities and resources to meet the child's individual learning needs
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
We're Looking For Someone Who
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
Is patient, nurturing, and empathetic
Can build positive and trusting relationships with young children
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is proactive, adaptable, and able to respond to the changing needs of the pupil
Ideally has experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or additional learning needs
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
