Learning Support Assistant | Amersham, Buckinghamshire
Looking for your next Learning Support Assistant opportunity? Tradewind Recruitment is proud to support an outstanding primary school in Amersham, Buckinghamshire seeking an experienced professional to join their team for the full 2026/27 academic year.
Experience within a primary setting is essential, while previous work supporting SEN pupils and delivering phonics, literacy or numeracy interventions would be highly advantageous.
What you'll be doing...
As a Learning Support Assistant, your day will be varied and rewarding. You'll work alongside experienced teaching staff to ensure pupils receive the support they need both inside and outside the classroom.
Typical duties include:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
- Delivering phonics, literacy and numeracy interventions.
- Assisting children with additional learning needs.
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers.
- Helping maintain an engaging and positive classroom environment.
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience working within a UK primary school.
- Knowledge of SEN support strategies.
- Confidence delivering intervention sessions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Patience, adaptability and enthusiasm.
